Things to think about
when picking a sheep:
What kind of experience
would you like? Do you
want to follow an adult
sheep that is raising
lambs or a lamb that is
experiencing everything
for the first time?
Do you have a
preference for the color
or texture of the wool?
What are you going to
use the wool for? How
do you want it
processed?

The adoption can start
at any time and lasts
for 1 year.

The sheep remains
on our farm.

You may schedule a
time to come and visit
your sheep.

Shipping is included
in the price.

In the event the sheep
you adopted becomes
sick, we will
substitute a similar
fleece for your sheep.

The sheep are sheared
twice a year.
Traditionally, the
fall fleece is cleaner
and more full,
averaging about 3
pounds. The spring
fleece is less,
averaging about 1.5 -
2 pounds. There are
variations to this and
the fleece may
be more or less.
Icelandic's have less
lanolin than other
breeds therefore, less
weight is lost in the
processing.

that we have
additional wool and
wool products for sale
that can be blended
with your order or
just added to it.
CHILDREN'S
PACKAGE
Includes an adoption
certificate and a
handmade wool item. We
will also send
educational material on
Icelandic Sheep and a
sample of some raw wool
from the adopted sheep.

SPINNERS (RAW
FLEECE)
Includes the entire RAW
fall fleece. We will
skirt the fleece and
mail it directly to you.

FELTERS
Includes the entire
spring fleece. The
fleece will be skirted
and sent to the mill
where it will be carded
into a batt that is
ready to be felted.

CRAFTERS
Includes the entire
spring fleece. We will
skirt the fleece and
send it to the mill
where it will be washed,
carded, and felted into
a 3' X 4' live sheet
(This means that it is
about 75% felted).
These are great for
making mittens, hats, or
for needle felting
designs over the top of
it.

SPINNERS
(PROCESSED FLEECE)
Includes the thel (the
soft inner coat) from
the fall fleece. The
fleece will be skirted
and sent to the mill
where it will be washed,
then the thel and tog
will be separated, and
the thel will be carded
into soft, beautiful 8oz
roving bumps that are
ready to spin.

Includes the thel (the
