Hi!  Thank you for checking out our new web page!  We live in a small town in central Minnesota and love it.  We have 8 kids, and like to be as self sufficient as possible.  We have a large garden which supplies us with veggies for the whole year, and we grow all of our own meat.  It's a lot of work, but we are thankful for all we've been blessed with.

We were looking for a family project we could all enjoy so we started to research sheep.  After much study, we decided to get some Icelandic sheep.  We had not eaten any lamb and liked the thought that Icelandic's were known for their mild flavor.  We also wanted to try to use the fiber (which Icelandic's are also so well known for).  I officially spin really ugly yarn yet!  We started our flock with 3 registered ewes that 4 of our kids bought (they always have more money than us!).  Now we are up to 10 ewes and one "lovely" ram.

We have been pleased with our breed of choice.  They are a primitive sheep and are quite easy to raise, requiring little grain.  They also like brush and are doing a great job cleaning up our pasture.  Feel free to contact us with any questions, and we'll try our best to answer them.
